When to worry about bump to head (baby)

Posting here for traffic as not sure whether I am being over anxious.

DS is 10 months old and bumped his head in the wooden floor earlier around lunchtime. Was sitting and banged forehead going into crawling position. He cried a bit after but had been crying anyway as I had left the room to get a drink. He has a slight bruise but bit bump.

He seemed fine after but had a sleep (not unusual) then we went shopping around 3:30 and he fell asleep in the car (again not unusual) but I struggled to wake him to put him in the trolley. I got him out of the car seat and he went to sleep on my shoulder. He wouldn't wake up properly to sit in the trolley so I got worried and went back out to the car. He then woke up properly abs sat in the trolley trying to eat the trolley and everything in it (not unusual) and seemed completely normal. He's had some food and a play at home. He is a bit clingy and fussy but has been for a few days.

He's just fallen asleep again but it is his bedtime.

He is crawling so has had about three bumps to the head in the last six weeks and I usually worry for days after.

I had to wake him to get him ready for bed and he's acting normally so putting him to bed and will watch him.

It sounds like everything you've described is your LO acting normally. If you're concerned, perhaps a call to 111?

I used to worry about this stuff a lot too, it’s incredibly stressful isn’t it.
If they were in a crawling position and fell forward into the floor I would say they couldn’t have hurt themselves that badly? We have a step down in our house onto a solid wooden floor which mine had crawled/fallen off head first a few times - but they were fine just a bit of a lump/red mark on their forehead.
I took my first child to a&e over a head jump before and they were lovely and checked her over but said that the main thing to worry about with head bangs is if they are knocked out or sick? Also I suppose anything from any obvious sort of height too.
Sounds ok to me? Just keep an eye on them as you know them best.

I’d worry if my baby was unusually lethargic and floppy, not feeding and if they started vomiting or behaving strangely or very difficult to rouse from a nap or sleep. Only you know how hard they hit their head but if you’re At all concerned phone for advice. I’ve 4 boys and they’ve had many bumps to the head I just observed except for one who needed the back of his head glued.
I don’t think it’s bad to be concerned about a baby they can’t tell you if something hurts or is wrong so do what you feel is right op I hope your lo is ok

111 are good at talking you through what to look out for, maybe give them a call?

Thank you for the comments.

It could only have been from a sitting position so not a great height. He didn't cry as if he'd hurt himself really badly and he woke up while I changed him into his pyjamas and is wide awake playing and going after DH's dinner so I feel less worried now.
