Going for a few days mainly to do Beatles stuff for my son one one of days. We have done the bus tour. What else is maybe a little known/ cool thing to do and where should we eat? We have been to Il Forno and liked it , would rather avoid chains
Kids are grumpy teen and 9 ! Any cool bar/ pizza places with nice beer for an afternoon stop off would be a bonus !
Thank you and I know this isn't really a true AIBU? Unless I add that it's down to me to organise and make it a good trip maybe?!

I recently went to Maray on Albert Dock, it may be a bit grown up for younger kids, however our 3 year old was happy there and ate most of the dishes. Anywhere on Albert Dock is nice for food as it's a bit different and a nice view.

We recently did the Necropolis tour in the Anglican cathedral grounds, it's suitable for all ages, although it is ghost stories etc so you'd have to decide whether your DC would be ok with it. We loved it Smile.

For a 'really cool' pizza place I imagine teens would love, try Crazy Pedros on Parr Street, or Rudys on Castle Street xx

Lime37 · 01/04/2022 11:21

I was going to say crazy Pedros also the Baltic market has good pizza.

The link below is for a local artist Paul Curtiss who paints street murals. They are all over the city and from this map you could work out a trail of those you'd like to see.

Take him to Tavern Co on Smithdown Road for breakfast if you can. My kids love it there! It's right by Penny Lane so good for him if he's a Beatles fan. It gets really busy though so book before you go. Have fun! There's so much to do here :)

Moose Coffee for pancakes and waffles. Great for late breakfast.

Takingabreakagain · 01/04/2022 14:59

Almost Famous for excellent burgers
Also there's lots of good independent cafes and restaurants along Bold Street

If it's a clear day a good thing to do is to go up St John's Beacon - you can see for miles around the city

The Tavern breakfasts are legendary but get there early (before the students wake up!), and Dafna's cheesecakes is just a bit further down as well, which is an added bonus!

Cafe at the Palm House is good if you are out that way and is near to Lark Lane.

Waterhouse cafe at the Uni is beautiful as well

The old tunnels might be interesting:
