Name changed as I didn't really want this appearing amongst my other posts..

Just wondered what everyone's experiences here are and whether what I'm going through is 'normal' or not.

I tend to get pretty rough PMS in my luteal phase for a good 7 days where I have nausea, extreme hunger, fatigue, weakness etc.

Then my period is 7 days long and I feel extremely rough the first few days and mild/moderate after that. Often with pains a day or two after it ended that I don't understand?

Quite often I struggle to want to eat healthily, the fatigue continues and I generally feel unwell. This totals a two week stint of feeling shocking! Am I the only one?

I have been able to improve this somewhat in the past when I'm really shit hot with my nutrition, supplements, sleep, stress etc but it's not always possible every month and it's really getting me down!

You are not the only one. Unfortunately perimenopause can last up to 12 years before cycles cease and the lower and fluctuating hormone levels can make PMS and periods much worse.

I decided nature could fuck off.

My solution was initially to stop my cycles. I couldn't take combined pill but mini pill stopped my cycles. I'm now on Mirena (no cycles) with oestrogen.

Sore breasts the week before.

Migraine the day before (never had this until after childbirth 🤷‍♀️)

Day 1-2: gut pain that feels like mild food poisoning.

Then back to normal apart from obvs the discharge which ends on day 5-7 depending on how much exercise I do and what I eat.

I'm definitely too young to be in perimenopause so not sure if that means I'm even more abnormal!

NRTAT - clues in the name I guess but it's good to hear that your symptoms are a bit milder, I definitely need to get some help for mine.

The week leading up to my period I have awful lower back, pelvis and hip pain. I've had scans but they can't find a reason for it so it's managed with painkillers (tramadol is the only thing that helps). Also extremely hungry that week. Once my (very heavy) period arrives I have cramps, diarrhoea, and occasionally in so much pain I vomit. It's a horrendous experience every single month. It's been this bad since I was sterilised, but apparently being sterilised doesn't affect periods Hmm
