Size 10/12 if I lose 1.5stone will I change ring size?

Posting here shamelessly for traffic

I'm a size 10/12 and am just on the brink of moving into overweight category. Not sure I'll even manage to lose 1.5 stone but want to lose a stone at least.

Will my ring size change? I've gone up two sizes and wondering whether to go ahead and get my wedding rings resized and hold on?

My ring size definitely changes when I lose/gain weight. I would see how you go with your weight loss before making any decisions about getting them resized.

I lost 2.5 stone and my ring size changed a lot. My wedding rings were P and now resized to K

My OH proposed when I was 9 months pregnant and ring fit perfectly, 1 year later and around 3-4 stone down I have just sent it off to go down a few sizes as it just kept falling off.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 29/03/2022 09:59

I lost 2.5 stone and my rings are now all too big.

I have boney thin fingers (despite my 12-14 curves) and I’m still wearing same size rings from 2004 when I was a size 8. Depends where your weight goes on.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 29/03/2022 10:19

My rings are j1/2 so fairly small to start with.

@AndAnotherBill

After weight loss even my shoe size went down!

Really? Numbers please! This might be the incentive I need Grin

I was a UK 5 to 5.5 but now I'm a 3.5 to 4! The loss was 6 stone, and I'm only 5'1.

My feet must have been mega fat Blush

This. Some people put on weight all over, including their hands and others just don’t. Wait until you’ve reached your stable weight, then resize.

My ring size is largely dictated by my knuckles (I'm a 12/14) and I wouldn't be able to put on/take off a smaller ring than my size K wedding ring.

I carry my weight largely on thighs, calves and boobs with some mum tum... so everyone is different.

Lacedwithgrace · 29/03/2022 12:34

Can confirm shoe size changes too. I was a size 8, now 6-6.5

Beautiful3 · 30/03/2022 12:53

Yes the shoe size thing is true too. Happened to me!

Mackmama · 30/03/2022 13:16

I got my rings made a size bigger last year, then lost 1.5 stone, my rings are looser but not so loose they’re going to fall off.

Chely · 30/03/2022 13:42

Possibly if you store fat on your hands.

My ring size remained the same when I was 78kg and 114kg (wasn't pregnant then, just fat). Only time I had to remove them was from swelling in pregnancy.
