To take another job after being in new one a month

Started a job a month ago. I took a paycut and there's no remote working, plus I don't really feel particularly passionate about what the company does. I took the job as my previous contract ended suddenly so had to scramble to find a job so that I could pay my rent.

The people are really nice and we get on well so I feel really guilty about dropping them in it by taking another job (better pay, hybrid working). AIBU to leave for the new job?

The Friday thing - because someone will likely have to stay late on a Friday to process your exit paperwork. This might vary by company but for us, this isn’t something that can wait until Monday unfortunately. I wouldn’t care if someone told me their last day would be Friday in a week from now but I would be mildly annoyed if you told me “I quit and this is my last day” on a Friday afternoon.

But to answer OPs question, you are absolutely not being unreasonable! You have a better offer elsewhere so go for it and don’t feel guilty at all!

Off topic but no company will ever be loyal to you. Ever. So why should you be loyal to them?

Don't be fooled because the boss smiles at you or they give you a Christmas party or bang on about their values. They don't give a fuck about you and anything that they do to try and convince you otherwise is an outright lie.

Do a job whilst it works for you, then when it doesn't get another one and don't look back.

@balalake

Serve any period of notice, be honest that more money and hybrid working is your reason, and don't hand in your notice on a Friday afternoon.
Why not Friday afternoon?

I agree it's all about what you want/need OP don't worry about the current job. They will forget you soon enough.
