In a nutshell:
Tesco have a ‘standard’ (usually inflated) price for some items, but also a ‘Clubcard price’ if you scan your Clubcard at the till.

Under 18s cannot have a Clubcard.

Therefore under 18s are being disadvantaged because of their age.

I’ve had a quick look at the discrimination act, and it looks to me like this is nailed on discrimination. Not sure how they can justify this!

YABU - Tesco are entitled to charge under 18s more for the same product

YANBU - This is unfair and discriminatory

You get a discount on a meal deal which loads of teens buy.

I find it difficult to get worked up by this. There are loads of things you that aren't available to you untill you are 18. It's up to Tescos how they choose to deliver the discounts.

Same as you have to be over 16 to get a Costco card or have to work in a certain industry.

I'm pretty sure the Equality Act 2010 only applies to under 18s vis-a-vis education. I don't think your claim would stand up in law.

it is no different to getting benefits on a credit card, the under 18s cant get the credit card, so cant get the benefits. Completely legit

My daughter was stopped from using my clubcard details (she has the app) at the checkout. She is 16, so cant have a clubcard. Her college is right by Tesco and she gets her lunch and a drink from there. I think its disgraceful.

You have 2 weeks to scan your clubcard to get your points and any savings back. So the child can get the parent to get the money back. So nothing lost.
