I have had vaccines, we'll my whole family has except youngest ds who's 4 and to say the least he has coped considerably well having covid over the last few days! My other 3 children have been bed ridden through tiredness and temperatures and being sick, coughs etc, but are on the mend after 4days!

On the other hand me and dh have felt like shit!
We both have had continuous excruciating leg and back pain that won't go, chest pain, headache, even our eyeballs hurt, coughs, snotty noses, dizziness, unable to stand/walk, I have been sick numerous times!
We have literally been bed ridden the last 4 days and still don't feel like there's an end insight, I physically just don't feel any better and neither does dh!

I'm just glad my children are on the mend, but my point is we had covid last year before we had the vaccines and didn't feel as bad with it, and it's making me wonder whether anybody else has had the same with covid after having the vaccines?

Sorry for all the typos don't flame me I'm not well!🙂🤒

Not vaccinated and never had it.

billy1966 · 26/03/2022 17:14

@StripyHorse

I'm a contact tracer and have been for over a year. I have noticed that there had been a shift from people barely having any symptoms a couple of months ago to being floored by it now. Talking to my colleagues they seem to have seen the same. This seems to be regardless of age and vaccination status.

Of course there were people feeling really unwell earlier, and we still get people with no symptoms, or 'just a snuffle' now - but overall it does seem like we are speaking to more people who feel quite unwell.

This is also what I am hearing. But the latest variant is more transmissible and has take down so many tat had managed to avoid it the past two years.

Triple vaxxed and had covid in January and it was no worse than a cold. I've got an actual cold at the moment and feel worse than I did with covid but it affects people differently I guess.

crepesncream · 26/03/2022 17:18

My sister's friend has just come out of hospital after getting covid for the 2nd time, she had to go on a ventilator. Her breathing now is terrible. She's been triple jabbed too.

ProfessorScarlett · 26/03/2022 17:18

I haven't had the vaccine but suffered far less when I got covid a couple of weeks ago than my friends who were vaccinated.

I definitely won't be having a vaccine if they bring out more.

Manekinek0 · 26/03/2022 17:21

4 people at work, 2 unvaccinated and 2 triple vaccinated. All work closely together, no social distancing. 2 triple vaccinated have been incredibly ill with covid for the last 2 weeks and the 2 unvaccinated haven't had it.

There has also been a flu (definitely not covid) going round here. It could be possible that some people have had both at the same time.

SnapAndFartAllDayLong · 26/03/2022 17:26

Yes I'm on day 6! Still achey and feel really poorly. The first 48 hours was the worst, horrific spinal pain, like every vertebrae was bruised. I haven't had a temp and only a minor sore throat. I've lost my smell and taste, blocked nose. Headaches started yesterday and today my glands on my kneck are raised and feel bruised, also my ear canals feel swollen and hurt?!? I'm still achy now and have zero energy and feel like I'll never be well again 😭😭

mumpants · 26/03/2022 17:41

I'm triple jabbed and just had COVID. Felt exactly like a cold and am pretty much back to normal now.

UsernameIsAlreadyTaken · 26/03/2022 17:44

Yep. Triple jabbed and have felt like utter shite. I also had covid Christmas 2020 and have felt just as rough as I did then.

I really thought if I got it again it would be a lot milder but this has been awful. We’ve all been knocked for six by it.

StepAwayFromGoogling · 26/03/2022 17:46

I'm triple jabbed and have had Covid in the last few weeks. Mainly was really tired and had a dull headache for a couple of days but was FAR better than with other colds and flues I've had.

Hi everyone sorry I've been quiet but I collapsed into a very heavy sleep on the bed after a spending an hour and a half making sandwiches for my children's lunch, I kept having to sit down and then crawling to the toilet to avoid vomiting on their lunch! @Iggly I feel your pain

I’m 67, triple vaxxed. Had Covid 3 weeks ago for the first time and barely knew I had it, no worse than a mild cold.

Lillyhatesjaz · 26/03/2022 19:03

The office of national statistics says 20 per cent extra deaths.
I didn't say the death rate was one in 10 just of those that were sick enough to be tested at the time, and yes a lot who died were old but when you consider under lying health conditions include things like obesity diabetes and pregnancy it's very concerning.
My friend had covid go right through the care home where she works a month ago and no one died, they had all been vaccinated.
We are being told that we will have to live with covid permanently, I agree with this we can't lockdown for ever, but the reason this seems reasonable is because the vaccines mean a lot less people are dying.
This could well change as the virus mutates

Puddinandpie · 26/03/2022 19:12

This is what I'm worried about also, when the viruses mutates, it's automatically going to be stronger strain because its fighting its way through the vaccine, it just doesn't feel like we are ever going to get on top of covid and it always seems like there's going to be weeks and weeks throughout the year of being really poorly with it, not to mention long covidSad
Sorry I'm feeling crappy and morbid

The covid vaccines does make you more susceptible to covid and other viruses due to it effecting your T cells

Herani · 26/03/2022 19:34

Triple vaccinated here and had it six weeks ago. The illness itself wasn’t too bad but worsened during the recovery period with serious brain fog, breathlessness and fatigue. It also left me with temporary pericarditis which I just got the all clear on this week. It’s taken four solid weeks of rebuilding to being able to walk for 20 mins.
I used to work full time and haven’t been able to work since I caught it.
I’m staying positive, but it’s been awful.

sonjadog · 26/03/2022 19:44

I have had covid this past week. Only a mild cold. I am still a bit tired and I cough occasionally, but I am otherwise fine now. My mother got it too and has the same symptoms. Coincidently, three other people I know also got it this week and the same, all having mild cold symptoms.

Ottolin3 · 26/03/2022 19:47

Covid is a mild cold, unless you have underline health conditions

StScholastica · 26/03/2022 19:52

@Ottolin3

Not always. I've lost colleagues to it.
Whatelsecouldibecalled · 26/03/2022 19:52

@Ottolin3 I don't have underlying health conditions and have never felt so ill before and I've had flu and pneumonia before!

EllaPaella · 26/03/2022 20:07

Yes I had all 3 vaccines then caught Covid in February and felt dreadful. Temperatures, rigours, cough, chest pain, extreme tiredness and lethargy that had taken weeks to start to resolve.

SnapAndFartAllDayLong · 26/03/2022 20:08

Not true ottoman, I have no underlying issues and only 37 and I haven't been this ill since I had flu and tonsillitis 12 years ago! I'm triple vaxxed too
