We are looking to bring costs down on health insurance quote..

What is outpatient cover actually for???

To bring premium down a notch, would you increase overall policy excess or decrease outpatient cover limit??

Help!!!! So confusing 😱

Every insurance policy is different - and there should be a page in your insurers website that details exactly what is covered but in mine it covers things like blood tests, X-rays, MRI/CT scans and minor procedures like wart/skin tag removal etc

I have had £150k of outpatient treatment in the last 16 months, having my cancers treated.

The usual fees are £150-200 for an initial consultation, £100 for a follow up appointment. Radiotherapy was £1770 per session, chemo was £2500 plus per session plus oncologists fees.
It’s easy to run through a lot of money trying to get a diagnosis before any other treatment.

I would increase overall policy excess. If you can easily afford the excess.

Outpatient cover is basically any medical care that you are not admitted to hospital for (inpatient).

Oops posted too early;

Mine has a separate section for "Professional consultation" for things like chiropractic/osteopathy; podiatry; acupuncture etc but some also cover those kinds of things under "outpatient cover"
