Ok so in my handbag I currently have
Work phone
My phone
Keys
Work pass
Work keys
Numerous epipens (at least two)
Numerous antihistamines (life needed can not be without)
Letter for emergency contact for epipens
Letter for a and e
Tissues
San pro
Charger for both phones
Diary
Basic first aid stuff for kids inhalers etc

Just realised how bloody heavy it is.

Seriously contemplating having a handbag on the back of my chair Monday to Friday and having duplicates of epipens etc in the car and then a small bag - which would just be the two phone, diary, purse which goes from work to car!!

Seriously how do people manage - I used to have phone and keys (?) what has happened to me?

I am amazed at what some people lug around. My work bag has:
Work ID
Belt & key chain
Facemask
Small purse with cash
Reading glasses
Lipstick
Car keys

My actual handbag:
Purse
Phone
Keys
3-4 lipsticks
2 pens
Hand sanitiser
Monocular (don't ask)
Oyster card

When DD was little my bag was like Mary Poppins' carpet bag and weighed a ton from all the crap I carried "just in case"

Now I don't carry a handbag very often - usually I just take my phone, keys and card holder (with debit card and work passes) if I'm going to work/popping out to the shop etc. If I'm going out for the evening I have a small bag which fits my keys, phone, cash/cards and maybe a lippy and a couple of blister plasters. I do have a larger handbag for daytime use but its an open bucket style bag and I only really take it if I need to carry lots of things or am going to be doing lots of different activities so I can just throw things in through the day (eg going to the doctors, picking up a prescription, popping to the Post Office for stamps before going for coffee with a friend etc where its handy to have a bag to throw all of those things into so I don't have to have them all sitting on the table while I'm having coffee)

I completely sympathize OP, my back and shoulder constantly kill me thanks to the weight of my bag, but i cant minimize at all and walk everywhere (dont drive).. on a typical day i have to carry -
2x pairs glasses
Purse
Set of 17 keys
Smoothie for lunch
2x masks
Hand sanitiser
Ibuprofen
Phone
Baccy and lighter
Water bottle
Bin bags
Cloths for work
Windolene and Anti bac spray for work
Rubber gloves
Cashmere fingerless gloves
Lip gloss
I could leave home with whats in my bag, bar clean knickers Grin

It's hard when you have medical stuff to carry around, my stuff expires quickly so I need to use the same one until it runs out.

I make it work by having different pouches that put in/out, so in my work bag I have:
-laptop & charger
-headset
-glasses
-work pass & USBs etc (in a work pouch)
-(maybe lunch)

Then I add the stuff I carry everywhere:
-purse
-phone
-sunglasses
-medication pouch x2 (one is medication, one is testing kit)

  • pouch for chargers/earphones

If I'm going out I can take my everywhere bag without charger pouch & testing kit.

When I do go to work (I WFH a fair bit) I have an inter-city commute, and always feel I need to be prepared for all eventualities. To that end, my enormous handbag contains:

Purse
Compact umbrella
Sunglasses
Gloves (winter months only)
Keys
Phone
Phone charger and power bank
Earphones
Work card/lanyard
Mini folding hairbrush with mirror
Breath mints
Face mask
Hand sanitizer
Small makeup bag containing: san pro, painkillers, rennies, safety pins, plasters, several lipsticks and a lip balm, compact face powder, a few bits of other make up, a few mini perfumes, spare hair bobbles and bobby pins, soap leaves, hand lotion, glass nail file.

My work tote generally contains:
A folder of papers and notes
Laptop and charger
Diary
Pencil
Whiteboard pens
Small water bottle
