DS1 and DS2 are driving me nuts and I'm not sure I can hold out from murdering them until tomorrow when they go back to school/nursery...

DS1 has been doing a great line in spoilt brattery and winding up his little brother correcting everything he says, saying whaaaaaat? in indignant fashion everytime I ask him to do something, bursting into tears every time I tell him off (you know, for things like BEING A COMPLETE ARSE) and saying 'he's so boooooooooored' despite the room he can't actually get in because of the new layer of presents, on top of all the other layers of previous presents none of which he ever plays with...

And DS2 is just stir crazy cos he can't play out cos he and his baby brother have been coughing non-stop and the cold makes them worse.

Please god someone warn Childline before I lose the plot.. And pour me a G&T. Oh shit, I'm breastfeeding. G&T at lunchtime probably not a good idea.

...and frankly, comparing my Thursday - combing Bromley in the sleet for gym shoes in the company of small whingeing people - with a day spent in civilised adult company with the prospect of a quick lunch with DP (whose office is nearby) and the occasional rubberneck of celebs going into the obscenely posh shops down the road....

They have seem rather long to me but I had to work most of 'em (up to Christmas Eve, Friday before New year and 2nd Jan onwards). So my seeing my dd was rather limited .

I'd rather more holidays in the warmer weather.... so many things are closed over Christmas/New Year it's hard to find family activities that don't cost a fortune/are open/in the warm/take forever to get to....

I wish they were much longer (only work term-time) but that kids could be at school full-time

I don't mind the 9am start as i could take my dd in and then go to work but I can't leave work at 2.30 to pick her up at 3.15. That's the only thing about working!! Picking up is more important than dropping off to me since it's then my dd is more likely to tell me stuff on the way home. Miss it then and she's unlikely to repeat it. Her lips are sealed .
