He's doing a proper clean apparently Confused

YANBU = He's gone insane
YANBU = All teddies need hoovering occasionally and he's behaving completely normally

Er, the second option is supposed to be YABU Blush

OP posts:
Sux2buthen · 20/03/2022 10:10

I've done it.
Doesn't mean it's normal Grin

RewildingAmbridge · 20/03/2022 10:10

If they're dusty and he's the one doing it what's the harm? I bung DSs through the wash every now and then

CoalCraft · 20/03/2022 10:11

Oh good grief, and it's DD's teddies he's hoovering, not my dad's. Wish I could delete this thread and start over Grin

Bunging em in the wash would be my usual approach to cleaning them, but he's in the living room meticulously hoovering every one Confused Grin

I was wondering if you are Sarah Ferguson!

BronwenFrideswide · 20/03/2022 10:18

The picture of him meticulously hoovering the teddies has made me smile so OP, clean teddies and a smiling anonymous person what could be better on a Sunday morningGrin.

Jane2658 · 20/03/2022 10:19

Is that you Eugenie?

CoalCraft · 20/03/2022 10:23

He's finished in the living room now, moved on to the stairs.

To be fair the teddies do look refreshed.

Your catalogue of typos made me chuckle OP.

Let him crack on, I'm sure your dad will be chuffed Grin

sashh · 20/03/2022 10:29

The mother of one of my friends was once found hoovering the back garden so soft toys seems fairly normal.

(A cat had dispatched a pigeon and she was cleaning up the feathers)

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 20/03/2022 10:29

We still have a lot of dds’ soft toys, which Gdcs like to play with when they visit.
They’re mostly on open shelves and I’m sure could do with a really good hoovering to get rid of dust.
Can’t see myself doing it any time soon, though.

Reluctant to put them all in the wash, since there’s a lovely and very lifelike white rabbit dh once won in a raffle. It was getting grubby so I washed it - its fur has never been the same. 🙁

OTOH I did once machine wash an enormous and very grubby floppy elephant, after opening him up and taking all his stuffing out - stitches were coming undone anyway.
He turned out fine, once his innards were replaced and he was stitched up again. 🐘
Gds likes lying on him while watching whatever Netflix crap they’ve asked for.

gamerchick · 20/03/2022 10:31

Let him crack on Grin

MysweetAudrina · 20/03/2022 10:31

I thought he had got sick of them being on the floor and was sucking them up, not that I have done that with annoying small toys over the years.

EthelTheAardvark · 20/03/2022 10:42

What are the references to Sarah Ferguson and Eugenie about?

Papayamya · 20/03/2022 10:43

It's really good to hoover them to get dust etc off which can be an irritant. I never bother but if he's happy to that's good!

Datsandcogs · 20/03/2022 10:45

No teddies are for the washing machine not the hoover!

AlphabetStew · 20/03/2022 10:47

I hope the hoover nozzle is very clean.

MaeveKerrigan · 20/03/2022 10:48

What are the references to Sarah Ferguson and Eugenie about?
Apparently Prince Andrew has teddy bears on his bed and the maid had to arrange them in a particular way Confused
Sirzy · 20/03/2022 10:49

I have been known to hoover teddies before. They also occasionally spend a few hours in the freezer!

CremeEggThief · 20/03/2022 10:49

Ah sounds like he's on a mission.

Best leave him to it and make yourself a cuppa and put your feet up!Smile

Garman · 20/03/2022 10:50

We freeze teddies periodically to kill the dustmites, wash if they're actually dirty, hoovering would only get the outside not the filling.

CakesOfVersailles · 20/03/2022 10:51

@sashh

If you hoover the back garden your house will smell like a potato patch every time you hoover normally inside.

Don't ask me if this was the cause of a family argument. Grin
