To find it so hard to lose weight when I'm constantly tired?

I get around 2/3 hours sleep a night.

It's been this way for over 6 months now. DS is autistic and doesn't sleep much. He is medicated to the max, I know someone will suggest that

Anyway, I am very tired and find that sugar and shit is keeping me sane

It's got to a point where I have tried losing weight so many times now and fail as I'm snacking poorly. All for quick energy fixes

Yes they're short lived but they're great when I need a burst of energy and they're starting to make me happy. Very dangerous territory

I also feel far too exhausted to exercise and find that it makes me feel absolutely horrific because I'm tired

Does anyone have any advice? Sad

No advice but I'm in the same boat. It's really hard.

No advice either bit I'm the same. My child's sleep is like that of a newborn and they are nearly 5.

I start with the best of intentions but end up craving sugar because I'm always exhausted. I didn't lose the extra stone I kept after they were born and another 14lbs has followed.

I'm sorry that others are in this position too.

Thank you for starting this thread op.

I'm the same. I read that lack of sleep makes us crave carbs. My cousins are autistic, so I can guess what your life is like a bit- hard! Don't put too much pressure on you about your weight. Maybe try and add a load of veg or fruit to your usual meals to fill you up. Sorry I'm not much help x

Thank you Thanks Sorry to read people are going through similar

I really like Joe Wicks for example but I read one of his books yesterday and it said about good sleep being the foundation of everything

@georgousbold yep. I read that all of the time too. It's really frustrating.

I'm sick of having to explain to my gp that I can't take certain meds because I'm on 24hr duty too. Literally all of the migraine meds I've been told to try are unsuitable for this reason.

georgousbold · 19/03/2022 11:03

@DoubleGauze bloody hell are you me?

My migraines are so bad but I can't take anything. I lose my vision, my speech goes funny, numbness in left side. It's awful

It must be so common , lack of sleep impacts everything doesn't it?

I'm hoping someone comes along and has some genius ideas that we can try , but I fear that the answer is to get more sleep...
