I could not get the monologue from Hamlet out of my head but how fitting is it for the current situation in Ukraine?

To be, or not to be, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles

Can't pretend to have remembered the rest but I think it is very pertinent

I'm thinking Henry V.

In peace nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness and humility
But when the blast of war rings in your ears then imitate the actions of a tiger
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood
Disguise fair nature with hard featured rage

Thank you so much for this thread. There's something about reaching back across the centuries that is sadly strengthening.

That monologue is about suicide and whether to go ahead with it or not. I can't say I see how it relates to Ukraine, personally.

Hamlet is contemplating suicide in that speech OP..............

Can't see how it is relevant to the invasion of Ukraine?

Have you got muddled somewhere?

That soliloquy (not monologue) is about contemplating suicide. I find the comparison pretty distasteful tbh.

Aargh, bollocks. Zombie.
