To think 7-7.5k for Florida (Disney etc) is good?

Posting for traffic...I'm trying to do it DIY Style and I'm thinking so far looking at flight and hotel deals and then buying the tickets and adding in 1k for food, maybe 500 more.

That 7 to 7.5k for a family of 4 for 10 days in Florida to go to Disney world etc is quite a good deal? Or could you do it for less? Anyone else who know the score with these holidays as I have never done it before ?? Thank you.

I'm in the US and I paid $5000 for a family of three to fly round trip direct into Orlando and stayed at a moderate priced Disney hotel (Port Orleans) for a week including park tickets, food, souvenirs. Didn't use meal plan but ate well.

Everything has increased significantly in price here lately. Food, gas, rental cars, Ubers (due to gas increases), etc. Food has always been more expensive here than the UK anyway but right now the prices are out of control.
@movingsoon13 care to share how you got it so cheap??
Because its only for 2 people?

My quick search (I really want to go again) suggests roughly £500 per person for flights, £500 per person for park tickets, and £1000 for a hotel. Hence £3K for 2 people, £5K for 4 people.

We’ve done Disney a few times; always DIY. However, presently, I would book via an agent for that peace of mind.

I would also recommend looking at The DIBB forum. It’s a wealth of information. People can advise you on prices and plans for whilst you are there.

I’m so as I’ve not RTFT but if the kids like rides, Universal is amazing. Sone great deals for one night in a couple of their hotels gets you free front of line passes so you won’t have to queue too much (US school hols fall in June too).

Happy holidays!

We're flying to Orlando Melbourne over near the coast with TUI in May. Just under £1k for two adults, 45 minutes from Orlando

princesssparklepants · 18/03/2022 11:38

We're flying to Melbourne too..,, never even heard of it!

Hoping it won't be as mental as Orlando international!

Agrudge · 18/03/2022 11:59

Hopefully Melbourne has more to offer than Sanford did.

Sanford was good for getting through quick. But the return journey got a bit boring waiting around sanford

AChocolateOrangeaday · 18/03/2022 13:06

@Agrudge I think you are going to be disappointed, it's currently much worse.
