AIBU to think that Sainsbury’s shouldn’t sell Russian vodka?

I’ve just done some shopping in Sainsbury’s and was surprised to see the J J Whitley Russian vodka bottles on the shelves.

These are the ‘Artisanal Russian Vodka’ and the ‘Blood Orange Russian Vodka’ which are labeled ‘distilled and bottled in the Russian Federation. (I was in a rush and didn’t have time to speak with a staff member).

Did you buy them?

I didn't have time to talk to someone.

Only had time to take photos of each and every one in my trolley.

They have already announced they won't restock from Russia but the product is already in the U.K. and paid for, what do you suggest? Customers can of course choose not to buy

It’s not rocket science, sainsburys don’t buy the country’s gas for one thing. Also vodka isn’t essential, gas is, and the gov has announced they are trying to buy less Russian gas and buy it from other places instead….

Yes of course I realise it's not rocket science, but it's a strange sort of statement when it only involves products that don't inconvenience us.

You haven’t been able to buy Ukrainian vodka in the uk for ages - must be a good couple of years now
Lex nemiroff is one of my favourites
Any that you can get comes via Italy usually
As for the best vodka- the Lithuanian strumbras - well if anyone can tell me how to get some, please do so
