How do you make yourself feel better after a difficult day

Just that really, I've had a difficult day today, nothing major, just couple of very disappointing things happen at work, home and school. Interested in how other people deal with such days. I'm having a glass of wine, listening to music and just generally trying to distract my thoughts from dwelling on it too much.

Spend time outside in the sun (if avalible)
Go to bed early

I put some really loud shouty music on in the car and drive while singing at the top of my voice. Must look a bit weird but does the trick for me.

GrolliffetheDragon · 14/03/2022 18:27

Just realised that I don't. Everyday is a bit difficult at the moment.

Buildingthefuture · 14/03/2022 18:38

Wine, take away, some mindless tv (911 a current favourite) and an early night. Then up early and a 30 minute workout so I don’t take my pissed off mood into the new day….

Huge cuddles from my dd (4)
Then wine and plenty of heavy metal on headphones.

If DP is over then it's sex! Always helps

I'm sorry you're having a shit day OP. I hope it improves. You've got this x

Calling a friend, then chocolate/treats & TV

Stressedout1009 · 14/03/2022 18:43

@DelurkingAJ

Chocolate and a moan to DH who is excellent at diffusing these things for me.
The exact same here. Dh is my voice of reason and sounding board.

Vodka

Hard House, trance or happy hardcore on decent headphones

My headphones are lost somewhere in my house currently 😣

Always a run. I hate running but love the feeling afterwards, it resets me and helps me shake off the day. Did a 10hr day at work today and have just done a 5k, the long difficult day is now behind me.

Chocolate, cup of tea and early night with my Kindle if the run hasn’t quite finished the job.

Christmas1988 · 14/03/2022 18:47

A big full sized chocolate bar, usually a wispa gold microwaved on a plate for 20seconds and eat it with a spoon! 😂

I play Prince Purple Rain loudly . Maybe a few times. Then Nikita, 1999 and Let's go crazy!!"
My son turns around and goes back out again for half an hour if it hears Prince.

Then I quick dinner and jobs, get into the shower early or just into my pjs, grab a cat to cuddle and get into bed and go on my phone to WhatsApp a friend, or sm, or watch You tube/ Netflix film on my phone.

If it's not a bad day but I'm just sad, I bake with my preteen daughter whatever wonderful cake or biscuits she fancies making. Which we eat with a cup of tea and put in our packed lunches over the next few days. Sometimes we do something useful like empty and tidy out a kitchen cupboard or reorganise a room. Usually her bedroom, as she likes to move her bed around. Grin

Today I have a cat and am going to bed. Now. One hour 20 mins after I finished work. Because that's it, I'm done tonight. Just gotta find a cat who needs a cuddle... GrinGrin

Cup of tea, chocolate biscuit and some relaxing tv.

gingerhills · 14/03/2022 19:01

A glass of wine, a hot bath with essential oils, bubbles and/or salts, with gentle music playing in the background. Then I watch a few reruns of favourite comedies and maybe do some affirmations late at night or book some fun things to look forward to. If it's related to DC I can't relax until we've chatted and I've made them feel better about whatever crisis they are going through.

Yoga helps me to draw a line under it and separate the day from the evening.

Superbabe64 · 14/03/2022 20:25

In the week Spin class at the gym or a ride out on my bike. If a Friday...lots of wine
