David Cameron deafening silence on Ukraine/Russia

For someone who tweets his opinion on just about everything, the absence of any comment whatsoever speaks volumes. AIBU to suspect he doesn't want to upset his Russian friends and business interests? Or maybe he is just taking a holiday coinciding with the outbreak of war?

Some political parties, and some politicians, have received many £millions from Russian sources.

Perhaps some of them think it wise not to court publicity.

He's given TV interviews about the situation. Maybe he forgot to pop around to your house to give you his opinion personally.

Who in the name of sweet fucking Agnes pays any attention to what David Cameron says or does not say. The man is solely responsible for the awful mess this country is in. I have never understood why people still hate Thatcher. She was a harmless pussycat compared to the damage the boy Dave (may he rot) has inflicted.

Why does he need to post? We don't all need to share thoughts about everything. I've not posted about Russia/Ukraine either. Should I?

David Cameron is a twat. He fucked off after Brexit when we needed him to calm the nation and be a strong figure. He's a coward and I have no interest in his opinions on anything.

Are you under the assumption he is still PM? Why the hell would you expect him to comment on it - he's no longer an MP. You may as well ask why my neighbour hasn't commented on Ukraine.

This was exactly what I was thinking!

I do actually think it's important to hear his perspective - many of the reforms which are now coming in around Russian money were first announced by him back in 2016 so I, for one, want to hear from him as to why it was a priority then and what happened that meant it took a war for it to become a priority again.

I hate this new phenomenon where everyone has to comment on everything. It’s particularly bad on Twitter and makes most people seem ridiculous with their hot takes. Has Tony Blair tweeted anything? Or John Major? Or Theresa May? Sometimes it’s best for ex PM’s to say nothing imo.

This absolutely. I’ve seen people slagging of celebrities for not doing sad face “think of the children” videos from their Malibu mansion.

I mean presumably they’ll think Putin will go “Bloody Hell Kim Kardashian’s thinks this is wrong -pull back the Troops”

I absolutely loathe Cameron, but in his defence I think he was on Radio 4 the other day saying we needed to do far more to help refugees.

I agree with a PP though; I’m sick of the attitude of we all need to have a public opinion all the time.
