To take DS with me?

Finishing work an hour early today, so going to go to town in order to sort out something at the bank and buy some essential things like pens and so on. Thrilling.

I was going to take DS with me but not sure if he’d prefer to stay in nursery and be picked up later? (He’s 14 months.)

You’d be quicker without him I assume.
I’d enjoy the trip alone, he’ll never know 😉

ScrumptiousBears · 11/03/2022 08:06

You'd get it done so much easier on your own plus maybe have time to sit for a coffee.

MartinMartinMarti · 11/03/2022 08:06

I’d absolutely leave him at nursery! Both of you will have a better time.

Leave at nursery. You get things done faster and I would also add a coffee stop to your list. Enjoy the extra hour. Your toddler won't know the difference.

Beees · 11/03/2022 08:13

Leave him at nursery and pick him up once you've done your jobs. You'll both have a much nicer time that way.

Oh, I’m surprised at these responses - I thought he’d prefer to be with me, but maybe not Grin

Leave him at nursery! So much easier getting things sorted without a child grabbing things.

This with bells on

Leave him at nursery. He will be fine, you will get your shopping done without having to see to any of his needs, just your own.

Sirzy · 11/03/2022 08:29

Unless logistically it doesn’t work to leave him in nursery I would get the jobs done then pick him up

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 11/03/2022 09:05

Definitely leave him at nursery. You think you’re doing them a favour by picking them up early but for this sort of thing in the end both of you get stressed.

AFS1 · 11/03/2022 09:05

Leave him there. Give yourself time for a quiet coffee if you can. Then pick him up when the jobs are done. Enjoy the peace!

misskatamari · 11/03/2022 10:04

Definitely leave him in nursery. He won't like traipsing around, waiting around while you're at the bank etc, when he could be happily playing at nursery. Take the time to have a brew somewhere and chill for a bit!

Depends on the child. How happy is he in the buggy and how happy is he at nursery?

For mine:
#1 would have probably mildly preferred to be collected. She liked being in the buggy and shopping even at 14 months, but was quite happy at nursery.
#2 would have hugely preferred to be left at nursery. She liked being with lots of people, running around and hated the buggy with vengeance.
#3 would have wanted to be picked up. He wasn't keen on the buggy but he really didn't enjoy things like nursery and after a couple of hours had had enough.

Personally I would pick my kid up but can see I'm in the minority!

What a strange AIBU. How could we know?
