Unfortunately, it seems everyone is cutting back, myself included. Let's share things that give you happiness and satisfaction for free (or almost free). So life can still be fun and worth living in these difficult times.

I go to a weekend philosophy club (held in a park), which is free, it gives me intellectual stimulation and makes me happy.

At one of the local ponds on the common, there is a pair of geese, and three goslings. I can see them as they grow over the spring and summer.

Walking down the garden to open the shed and peering into the pots and borders to see even more bulbs coming up and at last, seeing green leave clusters on my clematis on the trellis and the fence.

My Japanese cherry with its tiny flowers that make it look as if its covered in snowflakes. So pretty, I can see it from my dining room.

The gym in the local park is free and you get to watch the ducks whilst cycling.

People watching on a bench in the sunshine.

Learning new things - for me this can be through a book, podcast or on the internet

Experimenting with cooking - not free but we need to eat so spending time looking at new recipes and trying new things

Exploring parts of my neighbourhood that I don’t know.
