Buses are too expensive

From my house to town it’s a 25min walk with a baby and toddler so I tend to drive. I’ve been trying to cut out local journeys and either walk or take the bus but Jesus, it’s expensive. For a 10min bus journey return it’s £6. For two hours parking in town it’s £3.50 plus fuel plus a lot less inconvenience.

Where is the incentive for drivers to take the bus? AIBU to think how are we going to help tackle climate changes when fares are so expensive and we are just relying in people to make the ethical choice?

Owlina, supermarket delivery is an option

Me and my partner recently took the bus into town so we could both drink. We didn’t check the costs before but it actually cost us more than a taxi would! Hardly an incentive to use buses instead.

@grinbear

I don't drive many miles but I'm usually on a time scale to get from one place to the next. I could walk the 3 miles but I can't walk it in the 10 minutes I have to get there and buses around here aren't great.

It's a bloody pain!

That's very true. To drive to the next town takes me 15 minutes but well over an hour on buses. The sad thing is that people that can't afford to have a car, then land up spending more money (and time) on buses and trains.
