I have a great friend and even though she is religious and I am not it doesn't seem to matter. We never clash about it.
There's a kind of respect there. We get on well.

Does anyone else have friendships that work well when you have differences in opinion ions on things??

I think a lot of it has come about by trying to understand other peoples ideas and thoughts by looking at the official or formal view of things when most people are on a spectrum that changes as they age, etc. The underlying principles don’t normally change, I think. So if you are tolerant and fair, you might be also be religious but have more in common with others who value tolerance and fairness highly, regardless of what motivates them to think like this.

I also think it is frightening that this is seen as strange. Growing up, I met lots of other girls from very different backgrounds to me who liked the same music. That’s all we care about. Rightly so🙂
