50 visas

Have just been watching the 6pm news . Am absolutely shocked that the UK has only granted 50 visas for Ukraine refugees .What has happened to humanity? Am ashamed to be British TBH !

I was just reading that over 17,000 applications were started but that due to the demand, the website crashed. Also read that the number of visas already granted is up to 300

So looks as though things are moving, there is no cap at 50 visas.

With small children may feel safer claiming asylum in the first safe country they get too rather than attempting a crossing to the UK. Again, I do not like the tories and it probably is a piss poor attempt at looking like we are helping but I don't think us and Poland are comparable. And, again, I do hope we help everyone we can. We're totally not comparable with Poland. The only two countries with higher population density per km squared than us are the Netherlands and Belgium. There are literally twice as many people living here per square km than Poland, which is why we'll struggle to house as many refugees as we morally should. No point taking a high volume of them away from other safe countries if we have nowhere for them to live and go to school.
