AIBU: to ask for positive epidural stories?

I’m pregnant and the mental health nurse says I need to seek out some positive birth stories especially with epidurals. I’ve found the whole conversation around childbirth really frightening and negative, so if anyone wanted to share theirs I would be most grateful :)

Oh my goodness congratulations OP! Hope you and your baby are well. So glad you found the epidural helped x

The only problem with my epidural was that it took 20 minutes to track down the person who had the keys to the drugs cabinet. Once it was done it was bliss.

My epidural was absolutely amazing. I was terrified of needing one after learning I was being induced but really don’t know why I was so scared. I could feel enough of the contractions to push and had a good straightforward delivery. Baby was much more alert and fed well straight away compared to my 1st which I only had diamorphine for. I think anyone being induced should be offered an epidural as routine. If men gave birth they would be offered as routine for all births I’m sure.
