Not to wear a mask?

From my understanding any NHS setting you have to wear a mask but unless its busy / I am going to be close to someone I don't due to being heavily pregnant and having bad nausea and wearing a mask makes this worse.

Went into the pharmacy today and a man in there already told me to put a mask on (not staff) I ignored him and was stood at least 4/5 meters away!

He then proceeded to shout at the staff behind the till that I wasn't following the rules and he is vulnerable Confused

The lady behind the till turned to me and said you are required to wear a mask unless exempt to which I replied then why aren't any of the staff, she didn't know were to look and another member of staff was coughing into their hand then proceeded to stock the shelves.

So the man then started on the staff members and said he was reporting the pharmacy!

AIBU not to wear a mask when the staff don't bother to either?

People are getting blasted out of their homes in Ukraine and you are making a fuss about this. Get a grip.

She said it makes her nausea worse and light headed. Do you think it would be preferable for the pharmacy staff for her to potentially pass out/throw up on their floor?

Oh FGS just put it on - there are highly vulnerable people in hospitals and if the hospital management has decided masks are the way to go then just get on with it.

Op was in a pharmacy, not a hospital. She’s heavily pregnant and masks make her feel nauseous. If you can’t see that this woman shouldn’t be required to wear a mask then you are the one who needs to get a grip.

I choose to continue to wear a mask but I don’t give a flying fuck about what anyone else does. It’s been many years since I was pregnant but I still remember the feelings of lightheadedness, nausea and breathlessness. I would have hated to having to wear a mask when I felt so dreadful. Covid shouldn’t stop us having a bit of bloody common sense and compassion.

1 She wasn’t in a hospital. 2 If this is your response to any thread MN will shut down.

They aren’t mandatory anymore. I go into hospitals, doctors and pharmacies all the time and they normally have a note up saying if you can wear one then do. I can’t so I don’t. No questions are normally asked. Was just that man causing trouble I think .
This.

If people want to wear one then all power to them but the time for policing other people is long over. I'd have said fuck off, but I've had 2 years of listening to the self appointed mask police and have had quite enough!
