I hate it when people say they are "investing" in the purchase of some sort of pricey consumable item.

I'd be interested to see your ROI on that £500 baby sling. 🙄

Gifting is another one I hate. But today I'm irritable about investing.

I've still got some fat left on my belly. Must be worth a few good meals at least! I had more fat stored but I've been frittering it away on my running hobby....Come the apocalypse I'll have to be finding food pretty urgently I suppose. Oh well.

Quite an expensive investment that fat. I don't eat any old rubbish!

The ROI isn’t necessarily cash though. I invested in an expensive lightweight travel buggy. The return was the ease of travelling, not having to lug a heavy one around, less risk of damage because it counted as carry on, less space needed to store it etc.

This is jealous and bitter. Who cares what makes people happy. Focus on your own wellbeing before envying others.

It's clear that it's very important to you that people envy you. So, sorry to disappoint 🤷

Surely it's soooo obvious that they don't mean they are going to get a financial return. They have invested £500 on a baby sling for the return of an easier, more comfortable life?(or whatever they deem the benefits to be)
