Work refusing me time off on a weekend

I'm slightly confused really. I work for a community care company. We all have to work every other weekend. I've got a lot of holiday owed to me and due to working limited days am struggling to fit it all in. My manager has said I can never book a weekend off if it's my weekend to work. Is this allowed? AIBU I'm thinking I should be allowed to book time off if it's my working weekend?

So you can't take any time off over your weekends not can you take time off during the week? All before the end of March

So which days can you take as annual leave ? I thinks she's pulling a fast one here.
Would suggest you contact ACAS again and start looking for a new job. Very short sighted of your manager - I thought the social care sector was having trouble recruiting.

Many years ago when I was a staff nurse we had some prune decide we had to take bank holidays we had worked in the month they fell, but not before the actual bank holiday date, even though most bank holidays are at the end of the month. So everyone who worked Christmas day and Boxing day had to take the time before the 31st Dec - absolute bloody chaos ensued. I weep sometimes for the calibre of management we have in this country, I really do

Exactly this. I'm being refused holiday because my manager said to many full time staff have holiday to use and I'm only part time. I feel lost in this company at the moment I really do x

Cross post
This is what poor managers and companies bank on - the fact you're a decent person who doesn't want to let your clients down.

Time to stand up for yourself - you can't care for people to the best of your ability if you can't take annual leave to re-charge the batteries

You have the upper hand here - the social care sector is desperate for staff. Buff up your CV and after you've phoned ACAS on Monday - phone up some of your company's competitors and ask about vacancies.

I would say I'm sick and for them to use annual leave days.
Then find another job.
