Are the majority of people on here well-off?

As the title says, are most people on here financially well-off?

I've read about a woman who earns £32k a year, another who decorates every year, one who has got 1 4 bedroomed detached house, anther who has got a "budget" of £1 million to buy a house.

I live in a 1930s semi (mortgage paid), my husband earns £25k, I don't work (recovering from being very ill last year)and we haven't decorated for about 6 years. Am I the only working-class -strapped for cash- person on here?

‘Not well off.
I'd put us comfortable. Income under 50k, I'm sahm with 6 kids and a dog. Don't stretch finances if we can make do with stuff we have, crammed in a 3 bed semi.’

Just goes to show how subjective the word ‘comfortable’ is because if I had a household income of under £50k with 6 kids, I’d not feel comfortable at all. I’d be bricking it.

@Enzbear

Ok simply put We are going to center parcs, 6 of us, has it cost us £400 or £7000? Because both and anything in between is possible. If it's £7000 then it is more than the Maldives holiday we're planning next year which also has a massive variation in prices depends on time of year, star rating etc. Clueless.
I never think about this shit - I've served my time (thank god that's over) at Centre Parcs - I know the cost in school holiday time - obscene, I know it's cheaper during term time - but what sane adult goes to Centre Parcs without kids, it could be free and I wouldn't go! I literally do not spend one second of my life dedicated to how much someone spent on their holiday but if you asked I could give you a very good idea, same with clothes, houses and cars - call it an analytic mind 😂. It only matters if you make it matter - knowing the cost of stuff if asked - does not change a thing.

“Call it an analytical mind”

Or just even the vaguest sense of what homes, cars etc cost! Grin

I know - I live in a world where I need to know what things cost - because I buy things and I like to know what I am paying for is reasonable. 😊

As part of a couple both earning I didn’t really register cost of things or my friends spending/ income.
Now as a lone parent I’m acutely aware. Even to the point if if I’m gifted money at birthdays/Xmas I can’t think about spending it on luxury stuff instead I go to essentials. Because I have no real choice.

And I’m not poor because I wasnt savvy with money. In my marriage I was always the one with savings he wasn’t. I paid for my holidays outright he would put it on credit card.
My income is low as now divorced and he won’t pay maintenance.

Yes I'm well off. I earn less than the original poster's dh, mortgage nearly paid off on a small house. Not much in savings. I have a fantastic job I love, a lovely adult dd and a non live in long term partner. I have enough money with some spare to do everything I want to
