To think that reusable sanitary/incontinence pads are a waste of money

I really want to make the switch. I currently use Tena extra plus and my bathroom bin has never been so heavy! I've looked at multiple brands and on the surface they look good but when I read more of the reviews I feel like I'm going to regret any purchase I make. I'm a bit Confused about storing them in a bag an washing them but can get over that if they actually work, are comfortable and don't smell!
Is anyone really happy with their reusable pads?
TIA

I've used the Bloom & Nora reusable pads - they are good for periods and I haven't had problems with them moving/leaking. They wash fine - not sure if they have special washing instructions but I just bung them in the wash and haven't had any problems.

I just ventured onto this thread but it's now firmly on my to do list to make the switch

I love my period pants and I don't really care if I won't have saved money over the next x years until menopause (probably won't have as I'm in my 40s) because the comfort and convenience is worth it. My 11yo also prefers them although my 13yo found the idea disgusting. Again I probably won't save money on DD's as she's growing fast and will need a larger size in a couple of years, but they're so much better for her for school and night time leaks. However I'm not sure how good they would be for incontinence, especially if it's a full bladder of urine.

@LeaveYourHatOn

Mooncup was ok until i hit premenopause and periods got ridiculously heavy - no cup could cope with it, it was constantly leaking and getting it out made the entire toilet area look like there'd been a murder.

Reusable pads are revolting imo and I can't understand the love for them at all - way thicker and more uncomfortable than disposable, washing was a nightmare as they never came out properly clean, keeping them until washing was rank....absolutely not for me in any way at all.

yeah I also have issues with saving them up to stick in the wash. Dh I know will freak out. Not because it's period related. He segregates bath mats to do all in one load as they are "dirty." I try to explain that the washing machine cleans things. I keep quiet about me washing my dust mop cover with the dish towelsGrin I'd mostly be using them for bladder leaks and will continue to use tampons for my very short period.
