DP still has photos of his ex on social media, ones that were used nearly three years ago as profile and cover pictures of them both canoodling.
These aren't his current profile/cover pictures obviously.

AIBU to expect that he would have removed them?

I have loads of my ex as does my DH. Seems a bit silly to go through deleting them all, the past is that past. It can't be erased.

Bookworm20 · 01/03/2022 14:59

I think alot of people are missing the point. They are not photos on his newsfeed, they are in the profile/cover photos, so very very easy and quick to remove. plus everyone can see them.

I'd just ask him why they are still in with his profile pictures/cover pictures? He's likely forgotten they are in there.

Its not like OP is asking him to erase all memory of his ex from all of his social media ffs.

Still, so what?

If you were to go onto my DH's page his 'featured photos' (ie the 9 you can see on their profile page) are his first wedding. Am I bothered? Nope. Why should I be?

Bookworm20 · 01/03/2022 15:11

You shouldn't, if it doesn't bother you. But this post isn't about you, your DH and his old wedding is it.

They are in the covers folder. You would only see then if you go looking 'everyone' is not going to go looking.

I've still got my wedding photos on there to ex-husband. Partly because I can't be arsed to trawl through and delete them. And partly because it was part of my life.

Coffeencrochet · 01/03/2022 15:56

I think it depends on the reason for breaking up. If it was messy then it would be a bit strange to still have them there but if it was mutual/no bad feelings then I don't see the problem. At the time of posting, it was a happy moment in your DPs life, and social media is used for that reason.

YABU.

Why do so many people want to delete their partners' past?
