To ask if I can have a lash lift when pregnant?

Booked in for a lash lift and tint tomorrow, I’m 15 weeks pregnant. I’ve told my beautician, she said it’s fine to still go ahead so long as I’m okay with laying on my back for an hour or whatever.

I swear I’ve seen other threads on here from people saying they can’t have a lash lift due to being pregnant? I’m going to ring my midwife tomorrow but just wondered if anyone else has had a lash lift when pregnant? I really want it done but obviously not if it’s not safe

Honestly will never understand posters who come onto threads to just be mean to the OP.

I'm sure midwives have heard it all anyway.

Op, I think you'll be fine as other pps have mentioned the problem would be lying on your back for a bit however that normally affects later stage pregnancy. As long as you're comfortable it should be fine.

Is this a piss take?

I looked into this a lot when pregnant as I loved LVLs.

Most salons won't do it when you are pregnant as they most often just don't take and then the customer obviously want a refund. Its the manufacturer/brand of LVL that tells them all not to use on pregnant women as hormones will stop the process working.

My salon offered to do it if I understood the treatment might do absolutely nothing but I just decided not to bother.

I had one early pregnancy and another the week before baby was born. They did a new patch test each time and I think they used a slightly less potent chemical mix as your skin can be more sensitive but no problems otherwise. My beautician was pregnant herself and would have been honest with me if it was a problem.

🤣 Never had it done myself, but some of my mates have and it looks like having your eyelashes curled semi-permanently rather than using those metal curlers. Meant to open up the eyes and make your lashes look fuller I think

OP I personally wouldn't as no one will really know if the chemicals used may have an affect on your baby. However I also ate kale when I was pregnant even though it takes of dead things, as was told it was good so might be a bit over cautious.
PS I think you don't really understand the term first world problems. I often get this sort of thing mixed up. When people say first world problems they mean it's something not very important. Because any people in the first world have the time and energy to give a shit about it. Where is in poorer countries they're worrying about surviving.

Reading this thread is gross. This is my first pregnancy, and mumsnet has become a daily go-to for advice, support , and just a general feeling of not being alone in all of my feelings, anxieties etc. This is the first thread I’ve seen where women are tearing down another woman for simply asking a question. Is it so wrong to want to make yourself feel good when pregnant? You don’t know OP’s situation - they could have had a rough load of weeks with morning sickness like I have. Do better.

I had mine done the day before went into labour. I also had an eyebrow tint, toe nails and nails painted and my hair highlife and trimmed.
I’m really glad I did. It was a good pampering session when there wasn’t much else to do and I looked good in the immediately after birth photos, so a bonus!
