i live with dh
we tend to share the cooking
i work he doesnt
when i cook it is very often vegetarian
when he cooks he is always meat or fish
he doesn't actually ask me if i want the casserole he has made and i dont ask if he wants vegetarian dish - but I can tell he isnt impressed by the offerings

Maybe sit down and have a conversation about it?

Howeverdoyouneedme · 27/02/2022 09:00

Well he should be grateful you’re cooking but all I want to know is why he doesn’t work yet you still have to do some cooking.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 27/02/2022 09:02

Just talk to him about it!

MrsLargeEmbodied · 27/02/2022 09:03

My DH and I meal plan together and then take turns (there's things he's better at cooking at than me). However we always try to have some veggie meals for financial and just to mix it up reasons. Could you try to meal plan and because both of you agreed makes him less likely to moan?

MrsLargeEmbodied · 27/02/2022 09:06

he doesnt actually moan, just has a pained expression, and makes suggestions, like adding to the macaroni cheese

I cook my DH vegetarian food 90% of the time. He likes it - some of his favourite meals are vegetarian. If your partner doesn't enjoy meat free meals couldn't he cook some chicken legs or fish on the side or something?

MrsLargeEmbodied · 27/02/2022 09:07

i could suggest that @SallyWD

Right ok then, just wanted context. For example I’m at home with children at the moment so I do the bulk of the (vegetarian/vegan) cooking and my partner is pleased to eat it.

I second what the others have said; ask him!

He’d get vegan in my house. 😬 If my partner wants meat, he cooks or adds it to what I’ve cooked.
