To think that IKEA stores must be empty of stock..

Tried and tried to order...one cabinet, another, tried another...
A shelving unit...same story.

Out of stock in all stores.

How will IKEA maintain profits and survive if they can't sell?

@MillyMollyMandyMaybe

They will probably eventually retreat from the UK. All goods are taking way longer to get here now, thanks to Brexit. Their European businesses will be fine.
How do they manage to run stores in the vast majority of countries in the world which are not part of the EU?

@maddy68

Brexit supply issues I imagine I am in am EU country. No issues in our Ikea
Yes, I can buy this in....The Netherlands, no issue there!

The cream one is available and in stock in Dublin and Belfast. The green one isn't in either store.

One item I wanted for my Pax unit was out of stock until November! I still got most of it but had to get the different mirrored doors which aren’t quite the ones I wanted but hey, first world problems. When I ordered, I had to get what I could on the first order (which was delivered) then return for part of the order when it came into stock and I’m not waiting for more of it which is due in March!! Crazy as Pax is one of their most popular things so you’d think it would be in all the time.

MintyFreshBreath · 24/02/2022 08:34

*still waiting

Brexit is a nice convenient excuse for companies @IcedPurple.

fuzzwuss · 24/02/2022 12:36

Must be Brexit, as I live in an EU country and there are no problems in our IKEA.

Similar here in Republic of Ireland.

Same with catfood.

Supply chain issues from China apparently.

LeahLana · 27/02/2022 19:02

Ikeas woes in the uk are due to its success rather than its failure

@RedToothBrush

But can't continue to be successful without stock to sell.

A sweet shop without sweets isn't going to make any money.

I'm prepared to pay a finder's fee for a white Nyboda side table to put a plant on in my bathroom. At the moment, it's standing on a step on top of a storage crate, which really doesn't enhance my new bathroom at all.

Just had a significant delivery from IKEA, no problems.

Just moved house and wanted to fit out the new office / study / hobby room. Could have gone to the nearest store but my order was large so a van would be required plus lots of humping heavy (and large) boxes which I didn't fancy.
Had been running through all the possible options and checking availability but there always seemed to be one item not available (never more than one and it changed from week to week which item it was which made it more anoying) and as delivery is £40 whether for one item or twenty I wanted to make sure it was all in stock.
Hit the jackpot last Monday evening and placed the order, a couple of items came via courier on Friday and the remainder (the main bulk of the order) was carefully delivered by a couple of nice chaps 9am Saturday morning and all placed in the room of choice.
All large (and popular) items. Idasen desks & pedestals, Billy & Oxberg bookcases & cupboards etc. Certainly no mass shortages or long lead-times.
