Announcement of end of restrictions?
I heard from some.friends that their employers are now encouraging a return to the office of up to 3 days a week.
Other suggesting a gradual return.
Some of these organisations are the ones who initially stated that wfh was here to stay.
Anyone else's employer done a u turn?

My employer has said we’ll be hybrid working from now on which is fine with me. They already said that won’t change as they’ve closed some buildings and already invested in home working equipment, etc.

We’ll work one day in the office and the rest at home and we’ve been told that from September, we’ll go back two days a week so I think it’s a good balance and I hope that doesn’t change

Not a u-turn, it was always the plan to go back part of the week once the wfh guidance was removed. We’re heading back again next week, and I’m looking forward to it.

Our organisation has embraced hybrid working with guidelines that staff can wfh up to 50%. Our direct boss and his boss want us all back in the office 100% of the time Hmm and have been trying to achieve that since Dec 2020.

Seem to have compromised on 1 wfh day a week which everyone seems happy with and flex start and finish with grumbling from the bosses that it will have to go back to fixed hours at some point. Waiting to see what changes will be made after Boris' announcement.

We're encouraged to be hybrid. I go in 2 days a week and actually it's really nice and does help build team connections and help with morale and management. Anyone vulnerable can stay WFH and we are taking on a few fully remote people, but only at certain levels/roles. If you're in a hybrid office which I think most will be and you choose to fully WFH, I do think this will affect people's chance of promotions etc. I can do my job from home fine, but I'm senior and it is really helpful for the junior team to have more f2f training and support. Boris's guidance hasn't really changed anything for us though, this has always been the idea following the first lock down.

I work for a solicitors and we're all hoping govt organisations are going back soon as the land registry, probate registry, OPG, HMRC etc have been fucking woeful for the last two years.

Nothing personal.

Frazzled2207 · 23/02/2022 14:03

Don’t think so
Last few months everyone is encouraged in once per week (every team has a designated day) though we have lot of further away 100% remote staff too

Company is moving headquarters to a smaller office due to far too much space atm - hopefully suggests no change of plan expected.

My husbands have gone to a hybrid model. He will be expected in for whole team meetings but have no idea how often that will be. He is in the office today for the first time in 2 years so we will see.
