It's currently 58pmh and set to be around this till 4pm. I have a 6, 4 and almost 2 year old in a buggy who I walk 0.7 miles to school and we walk a rural route with quite a lot of trees which are currently swaying. Not yet had a text from the school to say it's closed but I'm starring to worry about walking in this wind. Aibu?

I cant drive unfortunately and I'm not sure about a taxi as we've only recently moved here

Is there no internet search engine where you live?

Yellow warning is advice to be alert to conditions, and it's Amber for NI anyway. The advice yesterday specifically said to postpone journeys if conditions get worse, look: www.metoffice.gov.uk/about-us/press-office/news/weather-and-climate/2022/storm-franklin-named.

I got hit on the head with a branch once in high winds - I was about 10 and it nearly knocked me out. It wasn't even that thick of a branch either so personally I wouldn't take the risk

The school hasn’t messaged, So I’d hazard a guess that it’s not in a seriously impacted area in any sense

I wouldn't bet on that at all.

Weather can be fine in one place and hazardous five minutes away.
