Does anywhere still do the sort of thing where they shop for you?I have no idea what to wear day to day or for special events etc. I never ever think I look good particularly (nothing wrong with my self esteem I just never think my clothes are nice looking) so I've just fallen into a comfort rut I.e jeggings, leggings and tops etc. Boots and converse. That sort of thing. My friend works for fat face and always looks so effortlessly put together every day, yet I look on the fat face website and i can't find a single thing that I think looks good that would also look good on me. I need help!!

Age 37, currently a size 18 but only because I've just had a baby. Tend to hover around 14/16 in normal times. Quite an hourglass sort of shape, huge boots but generally well proportioned. I'm a white brunette if it matters for any recommendations!! Thank you

I did post in style and beauty but had no responses 😕 shamelessly posting here for traffic.

Hi

Didn't want to leave your post unanswered. There are lots of options available. You could try a subscription service like Stitchfix or Lookiero. You answer questions about your styles/ likes / dislikes and they send a selection of clothes to try out. I use Stitchfix and love it as I've had lots of things I wouldn't have bought.

You don't mention your budget but you could also try a personal shopper session. Most big stores e.g John Lewis offer this.

Check out Instagram etc or Pinterest : magazines etc and save pictures of outfits you like. This may help you work out what your personal style is /you want it to be. There are also some good books about building a wardrobe that works for you.

Hope that helps a little. Also there is a great topic in style and beauty - what we are wearing today. Lots of different people post their outfits each day and they are a really friendly bunch. But be warned. You will want to shop. Good luck.

This is the new spring thread. Bit may be worth looking through the previous threads too.

What about asking your well dressed friend to shop with you?

Knowing which colours suit you (and you like) really helps.

I have found a few people on Instagram whose style I like with similar colouring to me, and use them for a bit of inspiration... I try not to buy new, but see how I can put my existing clothes together differently, new colour combinations, or fill the gaps in my wardrobe on Vinted / ebay.

My DH has had a few stitch fix boxes and what’s good is that they try to make an outfit rather than just go separates. They also give layouts of how to wear each item so you can see if you already have something else in your wardrobe that would go. You control the price range you are comfortable with too.

Would your fat face friend be able to help put together some outfits for you?

I think you're all right I need to ask her but wouldn't want her to think I'm asking because I want her discount etc! That's not me at all but it puts me off asking. She just always looks so effortless and clearly has a lot more clothes than me so can make each outfit unique each day. I dont really have a budget as I haven't properly spent money on clothes for years. I'll have a look at those subscription services.
