My DF is turning 70 this week and I haven't a clue what to buy him and I need help!

Nothing alcohol related - he drinks far too much already, and it can be difficult for us as a family but that's another thread.

He's not into DIY, cooking, cleaning etc. He's an old fashioned lazy git.

He likes to play music and listen to music. I usually get him vinyl records and got him a vinyl player which was a hit a few xmas' ago. Don't want to keep getting him the same thing though.

He's not as interested in football as he used to be.

He likes gadgets.. He's got ipad, iphone, alexa, roomba and things like that. I did think of getting him airpods but not sure what version of ipod he has and he always loses things. I dont want to get him something he'll leave in the local pub.

He enjoys walking but I did offer him a fitbit once and he wasn't interested in tracking steps. He likes to listen to music on normal headphones whilst walking.

He's got plenty of socks, ties, aftershave etc.

His hobbies are very limited - walking, playing music, listening to music, drinking, pub.

Please help me with ideas! I have a budget of £100

Tickets to an outdoor concert or music festival sometime over the Summer? (The best would be the St Magnus Festival in Orkney - but you might need a few other people to contribute to the cost of travel and accommodation.)

I genuinely can’t think of anything else!

I just bought a fancy milk frother if he drinks coffee?

Food hamper from a nice delicatessen. I got one for xmas, had lots of nice chutneys, olives, chocolates.its something you wouldn't buy yourself but lovely to receive.

What about some kind of voucher for music or outdoor gear for the walks? Does he have a dog, in which case something for that? (Not suggesting you actually get h a dog!)

Oops him, obviously!

Concert tickets are an option, depending on who is touring

A weather station - one part goes outside and the other inside the house. It tells you the temperature (in and out), wind speed and other such data. A great hit with DH a few years ago

Agree that tickets to something that you go to together might be a good idea ... my DPs genuinely don't want any more 'stuff' in their lives and just don't want presents but enjoy spending time with me or their GDC 'doing something'.

Think theater or opera tickets or seasonal passes.
Also there are alcohol subscription boxes if he likes trying out new stuff.
If he enjoys electronics and stuff then maybe some software that would be kind of entertaining and useful? There are photo restoration programs that allow to colorize black and white pictures or make them look newer overall, and programs like Photoglory or Photoworks are beginner friendly, too.

I'd take him to a concert or music festival of some sort. If there's nothing you know he definitely likes, maybe try some up-and-coming local band he hasn't heard of. That has the bonus of coming in easily under budget, so you could add on a nice picnic or meal out.
