Skip contents, liability and wind

So, builder has put a skip on our drive which is full from building work done on our house. The builder organised and paid for the skip out of a lump sum we gave him. .

If the contents fly free in the storm and damage cars or houses, are we or our builder liable?

AIBU to be worried?

We have one on our drive too and i am worried about debris. DH put a load of earth on top today and tells me I’m being silly to worry but I can’t help worrying. No answers but similarly concerned

Im not sure, I phoned a skip company today for my slightly more complicated issue and couldn't get a straight answer re liability.

We have a skip belonging to a neighbour (who we dont know) on our property, supposed to be going tomorrow according to skip company, but Im concerned they wont come early enough to take it before storm gets too bad.

I asked them to come and at least net it today but they said no need. Im going to be quite pissed off if neighbours old kitchen smashes my living room window. We had an old door to get rid of and some wood left over from our building work and as his skip has been squatting on my drive for longer than initially asked and the skip company were less than helpful when I phoned them I have used the heavy wood and the door to try and hold his stuff in place.

They should have public liabilities insurance which should cover you.. skip companies/builders should confirm
