So Molly Maes card declined...

Remember the girl who told us all that we were poor because of our poor time management skills, and that we all have the same hours in the day as Beyonce?

Well she is trying to garner favour with us pool folk by purposely going to McDonald's and having her card declined. It was so embarrassing, tee hee, because her card declined despite gaming millions in the bank.

Does she really think people will not see through this? She is trying to play poor too seem like she isn't as put if touch as she really is. After all, millionaires have money problems too...
poor girl shall we start a crowd fund?

Why do you think this person pretended to have her card declined? That seems unlikely, sometimes a card payment is declined whether you have the money or not, it happens to us all at some point or another, nothing to be ashamed of.

She’s literally just a random girl from Hertfordshire who has lots of followers on social media. That’s it.

The people losing her shit over what she says as if she’s some kind of high-up politician are hilarious.

If you want to be a working-class advocate then get involved with contacting your local MP about issues in your area and donate to a food bank, instead of frothing over Molly Mae’s Instagram account.

Surely though it’s more likely her card was genuinely declined for technical reasons rather than her pretending it was due to having no cash?
My card was declined in the co-op last week… I had enough money in the account, it was just one of those things.
I think you’re reading way too much into it.

When you could just roll your eyes and think I am not going to go there and direct more traffic to you.

That goes with the majority of influences, once they stop getting likes they stop getting time, if you are my age, its like when a band signs for a label and they stop selling records they get dropped faster than a hot potato

What’s really odd is that you come across seriously overinvested, yet you’re also widely mistaken on what happened.

If you watched the YouTube video, you would see that she forgot her purse, tried to pay via Apple Pay but it was declined because it’s not a mainstream bank that’s widely accepted everywhere (think Coutts!)

Mine gets declined sometimes because the shop's machine loses signal, it's an old card that's worn out from use (the usual reason why I end up with a replacement most years) or something like that. Or there was the time where I'd thought it was a great idea going into the app and blocking gambling and petrol purchases, then forgetting all about it until I tried to buy something for dinner from the M&S. The last one it got declined on was because I'd got a replacement but not actually used it in a shop before - I'd used it for online shopping several times, on the bus for about a week, but it refused to work for the corner shop.

The NFC phone payments fail more often than they work, though - no idea why, might be a signal thing, might be a clash between Google Pay and the banking app, but I'd never go out without a card just in case. I can use it on one bus no problem, but then fifteen minutes later, having not made any changes to the phone in that time, the next one rejects it. Other times, it works fine. [shrugs]

Some things just aren't a big deal. But you're making this out to be one for some reason?

Unless you’ve actually watched any of her content or done a bit of research other than daily mail or threads on MN then I don’t really think your opinion is warranted OP.

She’s not vacuous and she’s not clueless and she’s simply not a bad person. She’s young and she’s a bit naive but her content is genuine and her personality is warm.

I personally don’t give a shit about reality stars or celebs in general but I can’t abide opinions which are based on nothing but hearsay or daily mail style reporting.

She might not be your taste but unless you’ve watched her content and followed her over the years then you’ve got no clue really.

So yeah YABU

Also I’ve got plenty of money and my card was literally declined for 20 quid 2 weeks ago - the machine also declined my contactless on my phone. For no reason. So no, doesn’t mean it was a set up at all

Mine was declined in a Farm Shop the other week. I was mortified. Shock
Turns out that because the contactless limit has gone up to £100 more pin checks are being done.

She's said no different than any Tory supporter and not that different than what Adele had spouted at the start until she was told to shut up. There is a sexist element for the obsession with her downfall now. I don't take any notice of these people, but did read all of the analysis, there's much worse people who could be criticised, we need to stop demonising young people, which seem to be mainly young women getting it, when all they are doing is coming out with stupid shit which we've all been guilty of in our early 20's.
