Red patches on neck

They've come on over the past week, never had them before at all.
Unsure if it's eczema, psoriasis, etc?
Don't have it anywhere else on my body
Have been through a lot of stress lately, or maybe it's the cold weather.
Has anyone else had them? Any idea what it is?

My teen had this, started at xmas. Patches grew. Itchy. Scaly. Neck then little bit on face, big ones on collarbones. Wondered if it was a post COVID rash. She had had what I thought was flu. Nothing helped so went to gp a fortnight ago. Got hydrocortisone cream for face and eumovate for body and some kind of body wash. Near instant results. Don't know yet if it is going for good obv. He called it 'an eczema type rash'. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot that's very helpful. Glad to hear it worked for her. I had COVID several months ago so don't think it's related but I'll definitely go to the GP

I sometimes get something similar and it's a fungal thing called tinea versicolor. It's an overgrowth of fungus that normally grows on skin anyway so it's not dangerous or contagious. The patches I get tend to be more orange/brown in colour but I think they can be red too, and like you describe the skin is a bit more dry than other areas and if I scratch it starts to flake.

I went to the Dr and the first time I was given a steroid cream which cleared it up very well. I've since moved and changed Dr's and the new ones give me an anti-fungal shampoo to wash with which does get rid of it but it takes a long time, a month or 2 of constant use to even fade and longer to completely go away. The shampoo has to be kept on for 10 mins and it stinks. It just keeps coming back if I stop using it. I've got new small patches appearing on my back and chest so I think I'll start using it again soon to hopefully get rid of it in time for summer.
