Prefer to sleep on my own

Curious as friend was shocked that after 12 years of marriage and two kids I feel excited/happy when I realise hubby has fallen asleep on sofa and I might get to sleep on my own in double bed. Aibu to feel happy that I can enjoy the whole king size without anyone snoring/farting next to me?

I'm a long time widow and I still put things on one side of the bed so I don't feel so alone when I turn in the night. I still miss him. Nights together were probably my favourite time of the day - we'd discuss the day, the DC and snuggle. Sort it all out.

We have separate bedrooms as neither of us likes to share a bed.

Plus I like a really cold bedroom and snore and he prefers a warm room and the absence of my snoring.

We only share a bed when visiting or on holiday.

We've have two 4'6" beds next to each other to make a 9ft wide bed.
Own bed own duvets. It's lovely. But he doesn't snore.

DH and I have separate rooms. We've been married 10 years and had separate rooms since before we were married. He snores and I'm a light sleeper so I sleep much better if we're in different rooms and if I sleep better we're much happier!

We have a 3 yr old DD so that side has never been an issue.

I don't mind sharing for a few days if we're staying with family or on holiday. I will use ear plugs but my ears start to hurt if I use them long term. I definitely don't sleep as well though - I've got used to having the space and the duvet to myself!!

I think it's a shame so many people have a negative view of couples having separate rooms.
