Honestly my son is so annoying! He's a lovely boy, just full of energy.

I don't want to play hide and seek again!

This thread makes me feel better about my feral 3 and a half year old. Had started googling 'can children have manic episodes'

I found babyhood hard with DS1. Then toddler years pretty okay, despite him being highly strung and having random tantrum meltdowns.

However, I actually found 4.5-5.5yrs the WORST so far! He's now gradually coming back to me again and I'm so pleased. It hasn't been fun, pretty or enjoyable for anyone in the house! I was so shocked as I assumed toddler years were supposed to be the hardest given all the time people spend telling you about Terrible Twos. Apparently DS1 missed that memo!

Should say.. mine is summer born and started school at just turned 4. A lot of people say kids get easier once they're at school. DS1 was an exception to that rule!

I loved the year before my DC started school, I found the toddler 1-3 years harder.

I found 18m-3yo to be the absolute pits. Youngest is 3.5 now and although I still occasionally fantasise about faking my own death and running away to get a break from him, life is slowly becoming more tolerable.

Agree with Parky, just wait until they hit 14 Grin.

Can thankfully say now my DS is 20 that (hopefully) the worse years are behind us.

It's pretty awful yes. 5-11 is the best age. They change so fast after going to senior school and the the teenage years are awful. Even if they are well behaved, the stress of them being out and about, thinking they're adults when they aren't. Then they leave home, have children, and lucky grandparents like us have huge amounts of childcare, back to nappies and tantrums. I'm glad I had them though.

Noooo @Whatdramain2022 I do not like this post, as my eldest is turning 12 shortly. I have the fear. She's such an absolute delight, and I don't want to miss her when she goes off in the world thinking she knows how to keep herself alive...

I think age 43 to 45 is the worst tbh.
Sorry I'm joking.
It gets better once they're in school imo
