PCR or No PCR for Canary Islands?

Confusedtraveler · 08/02/2022 17:28

Booked a week holiday in Tenerife for half term. I can't figure out what the entry requirements are Confused

The travel agent (and others) state no PCR test
BUT the Spanish government website seems to indicate PCR test mandatory

England is a third country, and all third country are high risk.

From Spanish website: "If you come from a HIGH RISK country, at the health controls on arrival in Spain, you will be required your SpTH QR code together with a vaccination or recovery certificate and, in addittion, a SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic test certificate with a negative result."

Does someone know what I am missing? How would travel agents make such obvious mistake and advise not to get a test if they are mandatory?
(all adults double-jabbed + booster)

Im in Gran Canaria, arrived on Sat. You don’t need a test, just have to fill out a Spanish Health Form and upload a copy of your Vaccination certificate.

SilverontheTree · 08/02/2022 17:32

You need to be double vaccinated and if more than 270 days since dose 2, also boosted.
We are going at Easter.
Any children? 12 is the problem age as need to avoid travel until 2 weeks after dose 2.

Uk isn't considered a high risk country
From .gov you don't need to test but do need proof of vaccination

Confusedtraveler · 08/02/2022 17:37

thank you.

The vaccination + health form are fine, it's with the Spanish Government website and the negative test result I am struggling!

I don't really want to pay for an unnecessary test either obviously.

UK IS a high risk country, that's the thing.

"ALL third countries are considered at risk (except China, Indonesia... Confused) I can't add the screen print from the website.

There are risk and high risk countries. We aren't High risk just at risk

Toottooot · 08/02/2022 18:06

How old are the children you are travelling with? Currently over 12s need to provide proof of full vaccination status

Berengaria1 · 08/02/2022 18:19

Fully vaccinated adults (second vaccine within 270 days unless boosted) don't need a test. Everyone aged 12 and over must be fully vaccinated to enter.

Confusedtraveler · 08/02/2022 18:23

children are under 12, no issue there.

I am just getting very confused between "risks" "high risks" and the seemingly conflicting advice between websites.
The Spanish list might change on the 13th, but it's not likely.

I went to the Canary Islands in Jan. No test needed.

dementedpixie · 08/02/2022 18:40

PCR or No PCR for Canary Islands?

AnyFucker · 08/02/2022 18:44

Just back from Canary Islands. The UK is a “risk” area, not high risk

No PCR required, and from the 11th no day 2 lft when you arrive home either

ImInStealthMode · 08/02/2022 18:45

I work for a company that specialises in travel to Spain from the UK, I can confirm that you don't need a PCR test (but agree that their online information is misleading at best).
