To think doctors are magic?

Because my son seems to miraculously get better the minute I step foot into their office?! 🤦‍♀️

I swear they have me down as the crazy lady who brings her perfectly well child to the doctor.

Today was the second time recently where I've asked the GP to see him only for him to be happy as Larry as soon as we get there.

The first he'd had diarrhea for ages, took him to the GP and he did the most solid poo I've ever seen in his nappy whilst being examined...

Today, took him because he's been suffering with a chesty cough for a while and chest sounded very phlegmy and he's started being clingy and upset with it for the past few days. Get to the office, chest all nice and clear and he's bouncing off the walls. We were literally cuddled up on the sofa feeling sorry for ourselves mere hours before.

What is this magic? Is it just me???!

Of course it's light-hearted in that I'm obviously glad DS is okay but God it's embarrassing 🤣

I have memories of being small and, on stepping outside the surgery after being seen, coughing like mad & DM saying “why didn’t you cough like that in there?” Kids!
Grin
Glad DS is okay.

Seriously!!! Why? 🤣

I feel like I need to assure the doctor repeatedly that he has actually been poorly today "I promise". Blush

Yes. I called the doctor once for an urgent appointment.

Me: baby is really unwell, upset, very lethargic. Ok very worried.

Doctor: is that the baby I can hear laughing hysterically?

Me: very much so.

Also took DS1 for constipation. He crouched in the waiting room and did the largest poo possible as we were called in

Yep. See also visiting paeds assessment with young baby who was miserable, not feeding, barely peeing etc so headed off to the local hospital referred by GP. On arrival DS does a massive poo exploding out of his nappy then feeds happily...
