AIBU to think Johnson probably hired that mob to pester starmer?

I mean he has form of trying to pay people to beat up/intimidate other people, it just doesn't sit right with me that a small group of thugs would conveniently pester starmer outside westminster about jimmy savile, I am sure everyone with skin in the game would already be well aware of his work as head of the CPS and all aspects of the Savile case years ago.

This is a massive bending of the truth to spread lies and dirt against someone you politically oppose. Maybe you should retract your statement and make a full public apology and a personal one to your target (does this sound familiar in any way?)

@TicTacHoh

Yabu, they've been out there for the best part of 2 years now
And the rest. They were there when I worked in Whitehall in 2009.

[quote Clavinova]Darius Guppy speaks here in 2013;

As we all know, Mr Johnson never provided me with any address and it is perfectly clear from the tape recording in question that he was simply placating a friend he considered to be letting off steam...

You mean the other man heard arranging to have someone beaten up denies it was serious?? Shocking.

Of course he might be telling the truth, but he’s also got a reason to say that it was nothing.

No - the other man went on to say;

"But while this may rightly exonerate the Mayor of London, my own line has always been somewhat different – and consistent: my only regret being that I was never able to finish the job."

Notonthestairs · 08/02/2022 19:47

He didn't need to hire help - there is enough idiots out there.

yesitssea · 08/02/2022 20:36

I don't think BJ or KS set the crowd up.

I do think the crowd was emboldened by BJ's comments

I do think KS could have picked a different route.

I also think the people should have been arrested.

Chloemol · 08/02/2022 20:38

No the lovely Piers Corbin riled them up

phishy · 08/02/2022 20:40

Why would BJ set something up that gets Keir sympathy?

Use logic, OP.

HelenaHandcart0 · 08/02/2022 20:43

The rent-a-mob would have been arranged to discredit Johnson. I’m guessing by a left wing remainer force rather than rivals within his own party.

StoneofDestiny · 08/02/2022 20:45

He could have easily been part of the mob as he is a hooligan from the Bullingdon Club, but his words certainly incited them. Those knuckle dragging layabouts clearly found a new attack dog bone chucked by Johnson.

SnowballSevenoaks · 08/02/2022 20:49

Johnson unwittingly incited the mob, probably.

The other theories on this thread are utterly wild and dare I say irresponsible.

luckylavender · 08/02/2022 20:58

@SheilaWilcox

I thought it was the other way round, Starmer hired them for the sympathy vote and to make Boris realise he was wrong with the Saville jibes. Comes to something doesn't it when we don't trust ANY of them?
Speak for yourself
luckylavender · 08/02/2022 20:58

@ShittyFingers

More like Starmer set it up himself so that he has something else to whinge at Boris about
Hmm

Except it is the truth
Abhannmor · 08/02/2022 21:10

Doubt it. They would've carried out the attack more efficiently if they were paid mercenaries. Not that I'd put it past him.

HauntedPencil · 08/02/2022 21:13

Yes you are - this is trump levels of cranky nonsense this thread

Looks like a mixed bunch of anti vax people far left generally shouting anything they could think about

Of course no one paid them to be there what on earth would that achieve

Abhannmor · 08/02/2022 21:14

Any evidence whatsoever? A tiny smidgen? Or just gobbing off . If you do know something about this which escaped the attention of the Attorney General and the Met before Starmer even became DPP then you should tell the police at once @lucky

JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 08/02/2022 21:21

Once they’re identified they should have their benefits stopped. Working people shouldn’t have to pay for thugs and oddities probably listed on various registers to sit outside Parliament hurling incomprehensible abuse every day. I get it if something major is happening and it’s an actual march or protest but this is just a bunch of layabouts who probably spend the rest of their time harassing their ex-partners or waiting for Wetherspoons to open. The public purse shouldn’t be supporting them.
