Body feels broken 7 months post partum. Am I alone in this?

My DS was born 7 months ago. For the first 6 months he didn't sleep well so I put my feelings of exhaustion and achy body down to that. For the last month or so he's been sleeping much better (thank god!) but my body still feels...broken.

For example, I can spend 30 minutes doing chores around the house (e.g. putting washing on, hanging washing out), and when I sit down I feel knackered, like I used to feel after walking for hours. My stamina is massively reduced, and I'm stiff when I get up after sitting down for a while. My skin is saggier and I'm a size bigger than I was before.

Basically I feel like pregnancy and giving birth has aged my body massively, and I'm only 33.

Am I alone in this? Can I make it better?

I feel you. I too was 33. 7 months pp still did not feel myself. Now 10 months pp and feeling much better. I started Pilates 2 months ago and really think it helps. I feel strong again

2 years pp and still feel broken. I am 38. Did not feel like this with my pregnancies in 20's.
Pelvic floor is destroyed.

Just coming back to this thread as got my bloods back this morning. Vitamin d deficiency apparently which may a count for things. They give you a loading dose for a few weeks and then you carry on supplementing

I feel better now at 46 than I did 7m post-partum with number 1 12 years ago. It took a long time for my ligaments to tighten back up, I think. I couldn't run comfortably for literally years, but have since got back up to 5k runs.

I am with @eeek88 on this. Pilates helps enormously. And take vitamin supplements for the joints.

@ThinkingIsAllowed came across your thread as I feel the same now.. I’m 7 months pp and feel awful! Haggard and tired.. my body feels like someone else’s! I wondered how you feel now a few months on and if you found any particular cause?xo

It is very early days, your baby is still tiny.

I got my body back pretty quickly as baby no.2 was very hard work.

I didn't have time to eat properly and he'd only stop crying with a quick pace pram walk for hours. 😢

Mentally I was broken for about 2 years.

You've lots of time, small steps eventually make huge improvements to life.

This was so like me!! I went to a nutritionist and she put me on some quite high dosage vitamins and minerals and honest to God it changed my life. She said that often people's bodies change and sometimes they end up with deficiencies after pregnancy because of hormone shifts etc. It sorted out my post pregnancy hair loss too. It wasn't really anything special that she gave me, more hi dose versions of just normal stuff you'd find in Boots.

Just wondering if you found out if there was a medical problem causing this? This is exactly how I feel. I wake up aching like I've ran a marathon. If I sit for 10 minutes after doing the basic of tasks it takes me ages to get moving again. Like you, my baby didn't sleep for 6 months so I put it down to that. He has finally started sleeping but I can't due to constant pins and needles. I had bloods done monthly because of a big PPH during my c section. I've had anaemia and a b12 deficiency but that's been treated. I'm nor sure how much longer I can go on feeling like this.
