Hi this is hard for me to write as I’m no anti Vaxer but I had my booster jab 30th dec at 7 weeks pregnant , I miscarried the following week but it works out two days after the jab the baby stopped growing so no longer had heart beat … I know this happens sometimes but I can’t keep thinking maybe it’s linked I’m just so upset with myself for not waiting for longer as the doubt in my mind is eating me up . Has anyone else experienced anything similar please ?

Multiple studies have proven no increased risk of miscarriage following the Covid vaccines. Unfortunately before 12 weeks is the highest risk of miscarriage.

Really sorry you're going through this, I think it's only natural to pinpoint something to blame, but usually there is nothing beyond 'chance', as awful as that is.

I think it's natural to try and search for a "reason" when you have a miscarriage. Knowing the why of things, or having something to "blame" helps you work through things.
However, unfortunately most of the time there really isn't any answers for why a miscarriage happens. I'm so sorry it happened to you and I understand why you're looking for reasons, but this was nothing that you did. It's just a horrible and unfortunate coincidence.

Thank you .. I’d just recommend anyone waiting the first trimester as the doubt eats away at you, it was a month ago now and Im still up late into the night as can’t switch off & suffering with bad anxiety , doctor says it’s normal with grieving but I just don’t want anyone else to feel like this for the same reason … it’s helped what you’ve said. Thank you for taking the time !

I'm so sorry you went through this 💐 No matter what you always blame yourself a bit. The vaccine doesn't cross the placental barrier and at least 25% of pregnancies end in miscarriage. I have a friend who sadly had a stillbirth a few days after drinking raspberry leaf tea, and she was convinced this is what had caused it, even though the doctors told her this was not the case.
I hope you manage to find peace, and don't be too hard on yourself ❤

I’m so sorry OP. With the first of my 4 IVF pregnancies I had the flu jab a few days before getting bad news at the viability scan. That and subsequently not ovulating in the month I had my first covid jab made me really careful about the next 3 - they all ended in miscarriage but at least I knew I couldn’t blame it on anything I’d done.

If you want to come and hang out on a thread with lots of other ladies who’ve had miscarriages recently I can post you a link, but there’s absolutely no pressure. Some find comfort in company, others don’t. Flowers

I'm so sorry for your loss x

I am so sorry for your loss.

It was not your actions or the booster that caused your miscarriage, many pregnancies end in miscarriage before 12 weeks and although we want a reason, the reasons are never known.

Don't doubt yourself, you absolutely did the right thing, listened to medical advice, got the booster to protect yourself, and therefore your pregnancy, from potentially severe covid symptoms. The timing will be entirely co-incidence.
