Do I need to wash my hair??

Sorry - posting for traffic. Blush

I have a hair appointment tomorrow, which I will be going to after taking my baby to a swimming session. In between swimming and hair appointment there's not enough time for washing my hair - just enough time to grab lunch for me and baby and hand baby over to partner so I can go to my appointment.

Will anything untoward or crazy happen to my hair if bleach foils are put on top of hair containing chlorine?? I don't want it to end up green or something. Shock

Happy to hear from any hairdressers too!

Does your hair actually get wet taking your baby swimming? Could you wear a swimming hat?

Latara · 03/02/2022 12:57

I would wash my hair

Yes it does despite my best efforts! We do a lot of blowing bubbles under the surface of the water, and also my baby is a serial splasher Grin Even with a bun twisted up on top of my head I always come out with some of it wet for some reason!

If it's a time issue then can't the hairdresser just wash your hair?

I suppose I could ask her but she may not have time. She usually just sticks the foils on straight away and then washes afterwards...

You need to wash it. Or tell the hairdresser do they build in extra time to wash and dry it first but I’d expect them to charge you more

Wear a swim cap?

CounsellorTroi · 03/02/2022 13:01

Yes, he can wash your hair first and rough dry it then put the foils on. My stylist sometimes does that anyway.

Idontlikeworms · 03/02/2022 13:01

Wash today and wear a swimming hat/cap????

CounsellorTroi · 03/02/2022 13:02

Meant to say wash it, cut it, rough dry it then foils.

Can your partner take your baby swimming?

I am getting my hair done right now so I've just asked for you!

My amazing hair guy says you should NOT get your hair coloured with chlorine (or any other kind of pool chemical) in it, or bad reactions could happen. It will need to be washed and dried before it's coloured. He recommends phone your hairdresser in advance - she will be grateful you've told her, and might want you to come in fifteen minutes early to allow time to wash and dry your hair before colouring it.

Hth 😊
