Mine goes around 9 sometimes 9.30 will not sleep before no matter what, occasionally but it’s rare and awake anytime between 7-7.45. Someone said it’s too late but honestly she isn’t tired or anything. Weekends may go to bed at 10 no later and up at 8-9 but it’s n a massive change of routine

Nearly 10yo in bed for 7.30pm, lights out at 8pm but doesn't actually go to sleep until nearer 9 some nights (likes a looong wind down!); woken up at 7.15am for school. Probably naturally wakes 7.45am/8am.

Sent to get ready for bed at 7:30, gets into bed by 8, falls asleep between 8-8:30. Wakes up at 7/7:30.

My 8 year old is up at 6.45am no matter what time she goes to bed, she’s always been like this !
Goes to bed 7.45 and reads until 8pm on no activity days . On activity days as she’s not home until after 7pm, she goes to bed at 8pm and lights out about 8.15.
Weekends are activities too so bed around 8pm , lights out at 8.30pm.
She never seems tired usually but I have noticed a bit if crankiness in the mornings . When she wakes up at 6.45 she just can’t get back to sleep ! Would love her to sleep until 7.30!

~11pm to ~7:30am

no waking, no dictating sleep times

MintyGreenDream · 03/02/2022 08:07

Weekdays bedtime 7.45/8 wakes at 7.30am

Fri night around 10pm wakes at around 8.30am

Sat night around 9pm wakes around 8am

Bed at 8pmish.
Reads until 8.30-9ish.
Weekdays up at 7am. Weekend around 8am

Her 10yo sister is often asleep before her and sleeps longer at weekends

WorstXmasEver · 03/02/2022 08:13

8pm to 7am

@Chippingbird23 my 9 yr old dd is exactly the same as yours. Asleep 9/9.30 no matter what. Up 7.45.

Weekends later so 10 to 8.30/9am.

It's 10 hrs of sleep which is sufficient for most kids this age. The only time she's tired is if she cannot sleep so still awake to 10/10.30. Doesn't happen very often but then she is tired.

9 yo goes to bed around 9/9.30 but really struggles to sleep so it has often been 10.30 or 11 by the time he gets to sleep. Up around 7.30 for school, later at weekends. I'm really trying to sort this out though as he is exhausted! Hoping for bed at 9, sleep at 9.30 which we've achieved the past 2 nights and has made a huge difference to his well being.

8 year old Ds in bed for 7:30 reads for an hour lights off 8:30 always asleep by 9.
We have to wake him up about 7:15 week days let him sleep at weekend.

SartresSoul · 03/02/2022 09:45

9 year old goes up at 8, asleep by 8:30 and usually wakes up at 7. Same as my 10 year old. 11yo has same bedtime but he wakes at ungodly hours like 5 or 5:30, always has.

ItsRainingTacos · 03/02/2022 09:50

9 year old in bed at 8 - fast asleep by 8.30. Up in the morning at 6.

mizzo · 03/02/2022 10:21

School days in bed between 8:30 and 9 depending on activities. He's been known to be still reading at 10 but this is rare.
Usually needs waking at 7:00 to be out of bed for 7:15.

Weekends are similar bedtimes sometimes a bit later, he wakes about 8-8:30.

NauseousNancy · 03/02/2022 10:27

On school nights my (just turned) 9 year old goes up around 8.45/9, reads for a while, normally asleep by 10ish.

Wakes around 7.30.

Weekends she can be as late as 11 and then normally wakes around 8.30.

This has been this way for around a year. She never has needed as much sleep as others her age!

Monkeytiger · 03/02/2022 10:57

In bed reading by 8. Usually switches his light off about 8.45-9, sometimes earlier. Up 7-7.15.

Sally872 · 03/02/2022 10:59

If they were struggling to get up for school it is too late. As they aren't it is fine. Ignore whoever said it.

Stormwhale · 03/02/2022 11:10

Bed just after 8, asleep by 8.30, awake at around 6.30 on the weekdays, 7.30 on weekends.
