Confused - think I need to leave

Feeling a bit scared atm. I found a lump of cannabis in the kitchen this morning and threw it away. I had told him many many times I don’t want drugs in the house (we have a 7yr old)
He’s come in demanding where it is, in a panic I told him I threw it in outside bin cupboard (as I put his stuff there before when I find it) he’s pulled it all out and obviously can’t find it, shouting where is it and quizzing me on where exactly I put it etc. I’m scared he’ll go through the bin and find it.
He’s always smoked it and drinks every day too, even though he promised to give it up when I was pregnant.

I think you know it's time to leave.

Just a note, though - for your own safety I wouldn't throw his drugs away. Drug users can go mental if you do that.

People who met my alcoholic ex husband at work said what a nice guy he was —— until they met him drunk. Slowly everyone realised he was a nasty drunk.
They don’t change unless they want to and I found his drunkenness ( he didn’t do drugs) went from bad to worse. Driving while drunk ( then blaming me ) Apparently kicked out of an event ( think televised, red carpet type so how drunk do you have to be?) The list could go on.
I left, got a job elsewhere, and just went. Best thing I ever did.
You don’t want your child growing up like this, drugs, alcohol in his life every day. And you deserve better.

Peanuts, there is nothing confusing about this. He continues to breach your boundaries by bringing and using drugs/alcohol in your child’s home. It’s that simple and is not up for discussion.

Protect your child and leave.
