We have had yet another power cut due to awful Winds

However I have had THE most wonderful evening listening to music on a battery powered radio and my 2 teenagers have been with us all evening in front out our fire and are (gulp) squeezing each other's spots...and writing letters on each others back to try and guess the word 🤣🤣🤣

I could melt with love

Lord i remember when we had no gas or elec. for a few days one Jan. in the early 2000s. No central heating in the cottage but were lucky enough to have a real fire in the living room. The DDs were all primary age and their school (same lane) was shut because no heating or light.

They spent their time playing with their toys on the rug in front of the fire as it was Victorian times and i got through a fair few books! I did a lot of driving to get coal and kindling. A ban was imposed on anyone opening the living room door to go upstairs unless they had a VERY good reason because the cold draft was so awful. We saved up our needs to open it until there was at least 2 of us having to go upstairs to make it worth while
